Hello, my name is Claire Watt-Smyrk. I am a highly experienced couples therapist and relationship coach and am deeply committed to helping partners rediscover connection, understanding and trust.

My work is grounded in the belief that relationships, even those facing significant challenges, have the capacity to heal and grow when both partners are given the space, insight and tools to understand one another more fully.

I specialise in supporting couples navigate the complexities of neurodiversity within relationships, the emotional aftermath of affairs, the impact of life transitions and loss, and the difficulties with intimacy that often simultaneously occur or unexpectedly arise in the space between you.

I have an eclectic approach to my work, grounded in psychodynamic theory complemented by behavioural strategies.

We work together to gain insight into relational patterns that are not serving you well and develop tools that you can use collaboratively to develop effective communication and improve understanding.

Working in Collaboration with Karen Doherty:

I am pleased to share that I work in professional collaboration with relationship therapist and coach Karen Doherty, whose work explores relationship dynamics and neurodivergent relational patterns

Alongside my own therapeutic practice, this collaboration brings together practical communication tools and deeper relational understanding, designed to support individuals and couples who want deeper clarity, stronger communication, and practical tools for change.

These approaches complement my existing therapy services and offer a focused, structured way for clients who want to work on:

• Improving relationship communication
• Understanding neurodivergent patterns in modern relationships
• Rebuilding trust and emotional connection
• Strengthening personal boundaries
• Developing relational self-awareness
• Navigating conflict with greater clarity and calm

This collaboration allows me to integrate practical tools alongside deeper therapeutic exploration where this may be helpful for clients.
